paintings
In 1879 a wall was torn down in Canterbury Cathedral. Behind the wall was a chapel. They believed they enclosed Gabriel's Chapel during one of the construction sessions. By doing so they enclosed many paintings that could have been destroyed earlier. They tore the rest of the wall down in the 1950s and they started restoration of the paintings in the 1990s.
Stain glass windows
There are many stain glass windows in Canterbury Cathedral. In the corona there are three stain glass windows. One is the crucifixion. The second is the entombment of Christ. The third one is the resurrection scene. Two of these are in the middle of two old testament scenes. A window depicting Adam in the original sin is in the Northwest transept. he is in the same row as Naason, Seth, Joseph, and Aminadab. In the south west window of the transept there are many scenes from the old testament. There is a window with the journey of the Magi. There is another one where the angel is warning the Magi of the dangers that lie ahead. The life of St. Alphege is depicted in a window in the choir.
